In this follow-up to our first Wild Conversations, we’re diving even deeper into the process of rewilding orphaned elephants, how long it takes and the approach we have found works at Wild is Life.
This time, Roxy and David are joined by Jos Danckwerts, our Conservation Director, adding another layer of expertise and passion to the conversation.
He shares amazing stories of Panda Masuie… Samson had gone wild after years of rehabilitation and how he was returned to the Bomas by a wild herd that he had joined - because of an injury behind his neck. It’s like the wild elephants knew to return him back to us for treatment.

Jos, also shares of another elephant Moses, who alone, came to the Bomas at Panda Masuie for safe refuge.
