EEEK! There’s a snake in my bedroom!!

On fear and 10 seconds of courage...

Some nights ago, I was working late at my computer and blithely headed for bed with my reading glasses on. As I got to the bathroom, I glanced back at something that had caught my eye on the floor, whipped off the glasses and spotted a bloody snake curled up in the middle of the floor!

I yelped, loudly, and sprung with alacrity onto my bed, yelling for my husband.

As he came in, I leapt from furniture to furniture shouting incomprehensibly about a snake on the floor. I went and hid in guest room until I was told that the intruder had been removed and relocated. Brave husband. Even though it was just a little one.

Whew! My shattered nerves and my boiling cauldron!

I just had to get that little anecdote off my chest. It has been plaguing my pre-sleep brain relentlessly. You know, those dreadful thoughts and visions that cross over your mind’s eye, just when you are about to fall asleep… but then you have to sit bolt-upright and recalibrate? Sweating somewhat. Not a good look!
